Some recent channeling I received explained more about the nature of prayer, its function, what it does for us, and how with repetition, it can move your mind and emotions into an attitude where action becomes more immediate and more effective.

About Prayer: Or call it focused intention.

Prayer is talking to myself! Oh yes, I might believe that I am being listened too by whatever one calls God, no matter if you refer to it as: Jesus, Allah, Buddha, Spirit, Universe, TAO, or Source. It seems that there is an element of “wait and see” in the air. If Mitt Romney becomes the defacto Republican candidate to face President Obama, then who will win that contest? Then what happens after that? And what about the Economy? Will it rebound or what if it sinks further into a slump? Have the protest movements here and abroad actually had any real or meaningful effect on policies or freedoms? Then there is the Earth…will it revolt with more radically jolting fits like earthquakes? And of course there is the European Union and the Euro? What will happen there? What about my retirement? And to cap it all off, what happens when we hit December 23, 2012? Obliteration? Transformation? Or will it all have been simply a build up which was preceded by a collective mental masturbation?  Hi Steve!

In Carol Heideman’s book “Searching for Light” she talks about us Michael students having an agreement to do light work at this time on Earth to bring us to a higher vibration/ level. I believe this is true. But she also talks about not everyone moving on to this higher vibration – and that’s all right, that’s their path to walk. OK – but what actually HAPPENS to them? There are many examples, millions perhaps if one considers every granular aspect of it, how and why the “good old days” never existed and demonstrate the blessings of modernity are, almost in every case, better for the mass of humanity. The sheer number of options opened to the individual because of global communications and travel combined with the extended life span and availability of information in print and electronically, make us realize that by volume alone we have access to freeing ourselves from isolation and ignorance.

After years of living and seeing what people do in the name of God or the Spiritual Life, I’ve come to a simple conclusion: We are already Spirit!   Whether that is defined merely as the atoms that comprise our bodies, or a more metaphysical belief that we are “children of God.”  Our journey here on Earth as living beings is the only certainty that we can know.  The why of existence, whether projected from religious doctrine or scientific speculation, is still no more than glorified or generalized opinion. As to animals. A couple of items tickled me to comment, since I love pets and feel so connected to animals. (If I were to have continued down one life path, I would have been a biologist or zoologist…love that stuff!) In regards to relationships with animals, pets particularly, this is how I’ve come to understand it.
